Theoretical Introduction

Technical Introduction

  • Exercises - Left and right hand finger exercises, both hand coordination skills, basic level technique practice of slurs, dynamics, articulations, strumming, playing in tempo with metronome.
  • Scale Practice - Basic CAGED system, traditional school of scale playing, Segovia Method, string wise scale playing as per octaves, scales & arpeggios studies from Initial to Grade 3 level.
  • Composition Practice - Initial to Grade 3 standards, studying compositions of similar standards ranging from different composers and different eras, a handful of famous non-classical pieces, jazz standards etc.
  • Chords - Learning and understanding basic shapes, their usage and practices, few example and practices of non-classical elements, strumming and accompaniment etc.

  • Composition Practice - Grade 4 to Grade 6 standards, selective equivalent pieces, introducing characters in playing with detailed introspections in dynamics, articulations, tonality, tempo and performance.
  • Exercises - Extensive advanced studies in technicalities like hammer on – pull offs, snaps, Tambora, few indispensable flamenco techniques like picado, rasgueado, etc.
  • Scales& Arpeggios – up to Grade 6 scales and technical studies, thorough studies of Guiliani 120 Right Hand Exercises
  • Study – 20 Etudes of Segovia, 24 Etudes of Domeniconi, a handful of Brouwer Etudes, some equivalent studies from other composers.
